This weekend's campout
Just a reminder to Scouts and/or parents attending this weekend's campout: Scouts should be dropped off at Old Lake Olathe Golf Course by 5:30 pm on Friday, 10/14. Take Ward Cliff Drive, either from Dennis or Santa Fe. Turn South on West Golf Course Drive. Your Scout should be picked up by 10 am Sunday, 10/16 at Old Lake Olathe Golf Course. Class A's are required for traveling to and from the campout. Wear class B’s on Saturday.

When you get to camp we are by where the old shed was located. (to the left/north of the parking lot) You should be able to drive up to park by the campsite.

Here are our duties:

Friday night

4:30-5:00- get camp set up
5:30 ish- sort snack food –then help as needed…
7:00 Campfire—we will pass out snack again after campfire
8:30 PM Meeting For Cub Scout and Webelos Program Volunteer Staff (Camporee HQ)
9:30 PM SPL/SM Meeting (Camporee HQ (crew president) Each Troop/Crew is expected to bring one song or original skit to the SPL/Scoutmaster meeting on Friday evening for approval, and to perform at the campfire.
10:30 PM Taps, Lights Out, Quiet in Camp

Saturday morning

7:00- breakfast at site
7:30- we need to be at the cub breakfast –several will be needed to serve breakfast, others will talk with cub families with girls about venturing
9:00 Opening ceremony --be at Cub Scout Area (finish at 11:30 and then help Boy Scouts in afternoon 1-4:30) Meet at our campsite for lunch by 12:00-1:00

  • First Aid Kits- Sydney and Kate –Linda
  • Signals Flares- Marissa & Bryan
  • Hazmat Relay- Nathan and Lauren -Duane
  • Rescue Mission- GPS – Hannah & Kamryn – Mr. Lewis

WE could really use two more youth to help with Rescue Mission and First Aid kits.

8:45- 4:30- Boy Scout Program (meet at Boy Scout Tent south end of campfire arena) Meet at our Campsite for lunch at 12:00-1:00

  • 7:00 AM Reveille; Breakfast in Campsites;
  • 10:00 AM Break Camp; Physical Arrangements Inspect Campsite; Check Out at HQ

WHAT TO BRING:

  • It could be cold at night…be prepared
  • During day have layers
  • Mess kit
  • Water bottles
  • Boots or tennis shoes (you will be walking a lot)
  • Green shirts /class B also
  • Chairs
  • Sleeping bags (tents….)
  • Smile and be ready to have some fun!!!
